Putting Hoosiers Back to Work | Print |

Without question, the most important issue Congress will address this year is the current economic crisis. Throughout our country, millions of Americans have lost their jobs and their homes, and millions more are worried about pink slips and foreclosure notices. I'm hearing from retirees who have seen their life savings disappear overnight, and parents who lie awake wondering how they'll ever provide for their children and save for college too.

As we move forward, it's important to remember that the economic crisis impacts us all, and it will take all of us working together to turn things around.

I promise to do my part by supporting common sense ideas to put Hoosiers back to work, invest in our schools and communities, and get our economy moving again.

In addition, I want to make sure you have the latest information about economic recovery efforts in Congress and resources to help individuals and communities weather the economic storm. This page is designed to do just that with a breakdown of key provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, resource centers for individuals and communities seeking assistance, and a link to a new website that tracks spending in the economic recovery plan and holds public officials accountable for spending these funds wisely.

I hope you will find this information helpful; please don't hesitate to let me know how we can improve these resources for you. Together, we will turn our economy around.
